Airius wireless sensor trial: Monitoring scrubber fan condition

This case study involves a trial using the Airius wireless vibration sensor on a scrubber fan in the food and beverage industry.

Thanks to a digital signal processor (DSP), which processes and turns a single vibration reading from Airius into several results, users can take advantage of the full-blown functionality of the Condmaster analysis and diagnostic software, including detailed spectrums and time signals.

To capture indications of deteriorating bearing condition and lubrication issues, enveloped acceleration and temperature measurements were used, while velocity measurements targeted faults like imbalance, misalignment, and looseness.

During the successful trial, the system detected minor defects relating to guard scraping, misalignment, and worn belts.
