Doppelmayr Cable Car UK Limited builds on long-term condition monitoring results with Condmaster Ruby 2026

Doppelmayr Cable Car UK Limited has built a long-standing condition monitoring practice with SPM Instrument technology. Following years of successful use, the company has now become SPM Instrument UK’s first customer to upgrade to Condmaster Ruby 2026.

SPM Instrument UK initially supplied Leonova Emerald to Doppelmayr Cable Car UK Limited in 2017 for use at the IFS Cloud Cable Car in London. The installation crosses the River Thames near the O2 arena and serves both tourists and daily commuters.

Since then, the reliability engineers of Doppelmayr Cable Car UK Limited have utilized Leonova Emerald, along with Condmaster Ruby 2016, as part of a planned maintenance strategy. Regular monitoring of critical assets has enabled the early detection of developing issues, allowing for well-planned maintenance actions to be taken in advance. This proactive approach is particularly important in cable car applications, where access can be limited and unplanned downtime has a direct operational impact.

Over time, the condition monitoring solution has supported Doppelmayr Cable Car UK Limited in maintaining reliable operation of key components such as motors, gearboxes, and bull wheels. It has helped minimize downtime and ensure the consistent availability of the cable car system for travellers.

Based on this long-term experience, Doppelmayr Cable Car UK Limited approached SPM Instrument UK in mid-2025 to upgrade to the latest software version. The upgrade to Condmaster Ruby 2026 was purchased and installed in early October 2025, marking the first completed sale and installation of the new software version by SPM Instrument UK.

Doppelmayr Cable Car UK Limited is now successfully operating Condmaster Ruby 2026, continuing to use the system to support condition monitoring and maintenance planning at the IFS Cloud Cable Car, and reinforcing a partnership built on proven results over time.
